Project
Now that we live in a mixed reality, our identities move between hybrid fields, coexisting with extensions of ourselves as avatars. Moving with increasing autonomy, these avatars pressure us to exist differently, propelling us toward a deeper integration with technology. This communion generates multidimensional traces of our behavioral patterns, beliefs, and other structural functions in the form of data—data that is then assembled into complex models of the human condition.
This data corresponds to an instance of our Being, a model of who we are—one of which we are not fully aware. Simulation has become so convincing that it has transformed our understanding of self. As a result, we experience reality not only as mediated but also as permeated by the redefinition technology provides.
The boundary between the tangible and the metaphysical increasingly dissolves, allowing virtual objects to convincingly interact with the physical world—and vice versa. This sign of existence—part interface, part perception—resides in the observer.
