ABOUT THIS COLLECTION

The Agents project was born from my desire to wear hoodies that embody the different states of being I explore in my science fiction short stories. I self-publish these stories as artist's books and zines. For the past four years, I have been developing a main character—a psychonaut who shifts between a dreamer, avatar, cyborg, and quantum agent—navigating layered, speculative realities in a quest for existential meaning.

Clothing is a medium to express ideas. I’ve worn hoodies since my early teens; they represented both comfort and character. Heavy and cozy, I wore them until they fell apart. Hoodies are my favorite vintage pieces from the 80s & 90s. They felt like the perfect canvas to bring my characters to life, a symbolic way to wear their skin and channel their aura.

Materials Used

From the start, I considered the ethics of adding to a world already saturated with fast fashion. I weighed materials, providers' policies, and environmental responsibility against my budget and technical capabilities, aiming for a slower, experimental, and intentional approach that blends craftsmanship, creativity, and local sustainability.

I limited the collection to 12 pieces per character—48 hoodies in total, no reprints. Each piece is made from high-quality, 100% cotton and supports local supply chains.

In the studio, I tested production methods. Screenprinting my intricate linework proved impractical—equipment and space constraints made it costly to self-produce, and outsourcing wasn’t viable for experimenting. I turned to Direct-To-Film (DTF) printing, a method I’d never tried before.

DTF bonds printed designs to fabric using a heat-transfer process. It’s durable and precise, but less sustainable than water-based screenprinting. While not perfect, this solution offered the best balance between quality and feasibility. Each hoodie is a unique, numbered piece, designed for longevity, collectible, and made to be cherished over time.

Behind the Scenes
The reality of working in a compact studio with limited resources prompted me to think creatively. Instead of giving up on this idea, I experimented until I found the proper technique that aligned with my vision, art, and concept.

DETAILS & CARE

  • Print Area Dimensions: Varies from piece to piece
  • Weight: Midweight, approx. 2 pounds

Care Instructions
To ensure your hoodie stays vibrant and intact:

  • Wash cold on a gentle cycle + lay flat or hang to dry
  • Wash separately the first few times to avoid color transfer
  • Avoid any bleach, OxiClean, and Tide PODS with OXI
  • Turn inside out for ironing
  • Avoid ironing directly over the print

Treat it as a wearable artifact. It’s built to last, but how you care for it helps preserve its integrity and extend its life.
